Taikichiro Mori Memorial Research Grants 2011
Graduate Student Researcher Development Grant

The grant is given to research projects with future potentials that are an experimental and/or approaching to a long-term research in the future. The projects must be led by project leaders who are Doctoral or Master's students of Graduate School of Media and Governance.

* JSPS Fellows are not eligible to receive this grant or any other kind of financial assistance due to the desired level of involvement required for research supported by JSPS.

* Doctoral students of the Graduate School of Media and Governance who are applying for the Research Grant-in-Aid for the Keio University Doctoral Students for the Academic Year 2011 may also apply for this grant, provided that the research project titles are different.

Information for the Selected Research Projects

  • List of the Selected Research Projects (available in Japanese) (Will be uploaded in June, 2011)

  • Individual grant recipients must manage the research expenses.
    Grant recipients must submit the Deposit Account Information Form to the Office of Research Administration, SFC by Thursday, July 7, 2011. Deposit Account Information Form is available in   file.
    Hard copies of the form may be submitted to the Office of Research Administration, SFC.
    The form may be attached to an email and sent to mori-jimu@sfc.keio.ac.jp.

Use of Grants

  • All research expenses must be spent by following the "researcher/Instructions for the Expenditure of Taikichiro Mori Memorial Research Grants for the Academic Year 2011 ".
  • Please keep all receipts since they need to be submitted with the Expense Report and other related forms.
  • Receipts must be made out in the name of the student, and should be written as: "(Student's name) at Keio University"
  • Expense Report form is available below, but application in a different format must contain all the information listed in the report form.  
  • Please use the following forms as needed.
     - Mori Grants Format 2-1: Material Purchase Report Form
     - Mori Grants Format 2-2: Transportation Expense Request and Receipt Form
     - Mori Grants Format 2-3: Honorarium Receipt Form

Instructions for Report

  • The name of the research project, name of the researcher, and affiliation must be stated clearly on the front page of the report.
  • The report must be in a HTML format so that it can be viewed on the Web. Since the Web provides no access control, a report could be accessed through various search engines.
  • The format for the report is open-ended and the length unspecified.
  • Multiple files (including pictures) must be compressed in a ZIP format or LHA format and organized into a single file. All the file names must be in English and in one-byte characters.
  • One of the following delivery formats is allowed:
    1. 1.44 MB (DOS) floppy disk
    2. CD-ROM (in a readable Windows format)
    3. Compressed report file attached to an email (maximum file size of 2 MB)
    4. Put the compressed report on the web and notify the URL to Office of Research Administration, SFC by email


  • Expense Report and Receipts
    • Grant recipients need to submit Expense Report, receipts, and other related forms as needed.
    • All receipts must be organized sequentially in Arabic numerals and then submitted together with the Expense Report.
      (Photo-copies of receipts are not acceptable.)
