Q1. What kind of research does SFC conduct?

For details, please see the pages about Contract/Joint-Research and the Consortium. You can also have an opportunity to attend SFC Open Research Forum held at SFC every year.

Q2. What types of participation are available for SFC research activities?

A2. There are two types of participation: consortium and contract/joint-research. For details, please see the participation procedures.

Q3. What is the difference between consortium and contract/joint-research?

A3. The Consortium conducts research jointly with companies and government or other organizations that approve themes determined mainly by universities. Contract-research is performed by the university on a one-on-one basis on consignment from companies, government or other organizations. Joint-research is also made on a one-on-one basis. However, the university, companies, government or other organizations jointly conduct research, not on consignment from the organizations.
