1. 背景

 

現在，広域ネットワークに存在する異種データベース群の中には，政府や国際機関の公式発表，プレス・ブリーフィング，政策ステートメント，政府高官の談話，議会議事録，NGOの活動記録等，国際関係・国際政治に関連するドキュメントデータベースや，国際ニュース映像や報道写真などのマルチメディア・データベースが含まれる．国際関係・国際政治の研究者にとって，これらのドキュメントデータからの的確かつ迅速な情報獲得が課題となっている．こうした情報獲得には，学術領域横断的・メディア横断的な統合・検索機構，すなわち知識ベースに基づくマルチデータベースの実現が必要不可欠である．すなわち，連続メディアデータ（定期的に発行されるドキュメント群などの）のような通時的変化を伴うデータ，および，マルチメディアデータのような共時的多様性を持つデータを対象として，メタレベルの知識を元に構築された統合・検索機構である．

本研究では，特に，広域ネットワーク上に存在する多様な学問領域の知識情報源，特に国際関係に関連するドキュメントデータベースを対象とし，情報の通時的変化および共時的多様性に応じて総合的な検索を可能とするマルチデータベース技術を適用することにより，新しい情報獲得環境を実現するための方法論を実現した．

 

2. 目的

 

本研究の目的は，広域ネットワーク上に存在する多様な学問領域の知識情報源，特に国際関係に関連するドキュメントデータベースを対象とし，情報の通時的変化および共時的多様性に応じて総合的な検索を可能とするマルチデータベースシステムの実現にある．また，具体的には, 各メディアセンター，および，海外の各研究機関の有するデータベース・コンテンツをマルチデータベースシステムに接続し，横断的な学術情報の統合を実現する新たな情報獲得環境を実現することを目的としている．

 

3. 成果

 

本研究では，広域ネットワーク上に存在する多様な学問領域の知識情報源，特に国際関係に関連するドキュメントデータベースを対象としたマルチデータベースシステム[参考文献1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13]の応用システムを実現した．本システムの概要を図1，図2に示す．本システムの実現により，各メディアセンター，および，海外の各研究機関の有するデータベース・コンテンツをマルチデータベースシステムに接続し，横断的な学術情報の統合を実現する新たな情報獲得環境を実現することが可能となった．
