What kind of research does SFC conduct?

Research fields include Health and Body/Design/Environment/Sociality and Globarization/Communication /Information and Communication Technology/Advanced Bioscience. What types of participation are available for SFC research activities?

There are two types of participation: consortium and contract/joint-research. For details, please see the participation procedures.

What is the difference between consortium and contract/joint-research?

A

The Consortium conducts research jointly with companies and government or other organizations that approve themes determined mainly by universities. Contract-research is performed by the university on a one-on-one basis on consignment from companies, government or other organizations. Joint-research is also made on a one-on-one basis. However, the university, companies, government or other organizations jointly conduct research, not on consignment from the organizations.
