Time Delay in Gene Expression

For a protein (or the mRNA of $ \sigma ^{32}$) to be active, it must undergo a time delay to reach a certain quantity limit. Time delay is also needed in gene expression processes, where gene transcription and mRNA translation must take some time to generate the corresponding product. The duration of the time delay is believed to be stochastic. In this model we incorporated stochastic time delays for all the gene expression reactions using Gamma distributions.
