Objectives
This laboratory aims to promote collaborative research with SFC (the Faculty of Policy Management, the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, the Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care, the Graduate School of Media and Governance, the Graduate School of Health Management, and the laboratories in the Keio Research Institute at SFC) and SFC’s neighboring institutions involved in health, medical care, and welfare. This laboratory plays a role in coordination so that various researchers across SFC’s faculties and the graduate schools work to expand collaborative research potential with neighboring institutions involved in health, medical care, and welfare and to effectively promote projects. By receiving participation from the representatives, etc., of health-related laboratories scattered throughout the Keio Research Institute at SFC, this laboratory will promote and manage collaborative research and cooperation corresponding to mutual needs in a comprehensive and integrated fashion.
Examples of research fields
- Health science research
Empirical research on anti-aging, daily fluctuation rhythms, etc., including mechanism studies - Research on Mibyou (the stage before actual disease) and Eastern/Western medical treatments
Research on the unification of Western medicine and oriental medicine such as traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture - Rehabilitation medical engineering
Integrated research on rehabilitation-related sports engineering, neuroscience, cognitive science, etc. - Platform and life cloud research
Research on the construction and application of PHR and EHR, and on the analysis and utilization of accumulated data - Research on community health and creating healthy communities
Epidemiological studies in cooperation with Fujisawa city, etc., and research on health promotion for community residents, creating healthy communities, and integrated community care - Research on best practices in care
Research related to the quality of nursing care and medical safety, etc. - Medical management research
