Objective
The aim of this laboratory is to collect information on the health of individuals and build a cloud system that can provide an array of services via the appropriate utilization of stored information. While patients suffering from lifestyle diseases and incipient patients are on the rise, individual health awareness is also on the rise, with numerous health maintenance and promotion equipment, and information systems available. With the incorporation of IT into medical facilities, progress is also being made in establishing infrastructure that will enable patients to utilize digitized medical records themselves in their own recovery. The aim of this laboratory is to build a framework that will provide high quality health management services where information obtained from health and medical systems is collated in one area rather than being dispersed and administered by many systems. Such information includes that contained in the mother/child health book used throughout pregnancy and after birth, records from health checkups at school and in the workplace, prescriptions, and treatment received at various healthcare facilities. All this health and medical data, including body measurement and exercise testing results that an individual might want to record, would be stored safely and securely, enabling a complete time line of a person’s health and medical care. Along with the above aims, this laboratory will place particular focus on (1) the building and implementation of a geographically dispersed platform, (2) a framework that enables appropriate utilization of personal information within the platform while simultaneously protecting personal information, and (3) a framework that comprehensively acquires, analyzes and utilizes information relating to an individual’s health.

- Build and run a medical information platform prototype system that covers hospitals and clinics within the model region of Kanagawa Prefecture
- Evaluate the prototype system
- Build a health management information platform prototype
- Build an operational framework that maintains a balance between the protection of personal information and the effective utilization of personal information
