Objective

AUTO-ID and other ID (identification) technology that is being rapidly developed will have a major impact on the overall social system by responding to new needs of the various layers that comprise our society (consumer side for users, supplier side for products and services, government side involved in the design of systems, etc.). This impact consists of a change in the current social system that was created with the assumption that information is non-symmetric, and will most likely result in the emergence of business models and social models that cannot be explained with conventional concepts. For example, the ability to trace individual products will empower consumers. It represents a change in the subject and object. A change in the law of one price and change in the concept of the ownership of items will have a profound influence on consumer behavior. The ID Business and Social Model Research Lab (hereinafter called LAB) is conducting research on the mechanism of this change in order to maximize the potential of ID (identification) technology while developing business and social models that will be accepted by society.

Outline of research activity plans

The activities of the LAB to find a meeting point between identification and social needs consist of research and feed back to society, which are being performed at the same time.

Symposiums and workshops that are held with the research, instruction and support of the academic research group comprised of a wide range of academic researchers represent an opportunity to provide all of the LAB members with the latest results of our research. Themes include the latest ID technology trends, examination of the impact that ID technology is having on business and society and conceptual research (academic research group).
